There are some "thank yous" that just don't feel big enough.
Beartown Road Alliance Church showed up for His Haven in a big way. They came ready to work and accomplished more in a day than we could have imagined. Two truckloads of mulch were spread, scrappy bushes were pulled and the healthy ones trimmed, walls were painted, and carpets were cleaned.
When you are a small ministry, there is always another project waiting. Another thing that needs fixed, cleaned, painted, moved, organized or cared for. The needs of the people we serve have to come first, so those projects often get pushed to "someday." That day, Beartown gave us a whole lot of "somedays."
To everyone from Beartown Road Alliance Church who gave up part of their weekend to serve alongside us: thank you. We noticed every bit of it, and we were genuinely encouraged and blessed.
We hope this photo inspires another church, business, organization, family or group of friends to find a place in their community and simply show up. You don't need a huge check or a complicated plan. Sometimes you just bring your people, roll up your sleeves and ask, "What can we do?"
